TESTIMONIALS
"My musical journey with Deon has been very enjoyable and dynamic. She never failed to instill interest in every lesson. Deon has played a very big part in my musical development as not only has she taught me how to play the piano, but also how to live and breathe music." - Nigel
"I met Deon Ong in 2004 when she began teaching my son the piano. She later taught my daughter the piano and singing.
I always found Deon to be a kind, encouraging person who went to great lengths to bring out the best in her students. The annual ‘Yippy Tune’ recitals she arranged in her own time and at her own expense prepare her students for their music examinations are testament to this.
Deon has a very pleasant, cheerful nature that enables her to relate well to people of different backgrounds and ages. Her services as a piano teacher in Perth, Australia were highly sought after and her students, who ranged from very young children to young adults, all learned under her for many years. Perhaps it was for this reason that her annual ‘Yippy Tune’ events had such a familial feel that we all looked forward to and appreciated so much." -

"Deon has been teaching my son and my daughter Pianoforte for the last almost three years.
During the time we have known Deon we have always found her (and her partner Shaun) to be exemplary in the treatment of our children. Deon has worked tirelessly with skill, good humour and dedication to make the discipline of Piano fun, successful and interesting for our children.
We are very sad to be losing such a talented and dedicated teacher and friend as Deon. She will be missed.
I have no hesitation in recommending Deon to anyone wishing to advance their musical talents. Our loss is your gain." - Bill Anderson
"I have known Deon Ong since 2007-01-06 on both a professional and personal level. During this time, Deon has been a piano teacher for my daughter Holli.
Holli is non-verbal with autism, and has some challenging behaviours.
Deon was always happy to receive Holli at piano lessons at her studio each week. While I never expected Holli to achieve a high level of comprehension in piano, Deon guided Holli in an attempt to give her an appreciation of piano and music, which I think she has done.
Deon is a kind and gentle person that demonstrates a high level of performance and enthusiasm that exceeded my expectations.
I am sad that Deon is leaving Perth, Western Australia and I will miss taking Holli to her piano lessons."

"My first experience with an instrument was when I was three, with a 24 key, toy-sized morsel of intricate machinery that resembled a keyboard from Toy World. I started receiving proper lessons when I was 5, though my teacher was underqualified at the time and later on I was to realise that I could not continue with her if I was to advance further. So I then found myself in the process of finding a new teacher.
I met Deon through her husband, Shaun who had offered to give me a lollypop if I told my mum that his shoes were pretty, and I – being one who wouldn’t never refuse such an offer for a lollipop – obliged (It was a Chupa-chup, and they are the best). He also asked if I was keen to learn piano, and introduced me to Deon. I was around 11 years old. I soon started taking lessons with her and went from grade five to grade eight. As cliché as this may sound (queue cheesy background music), the lessons were fun, and I did enjoy every minute, as much as I hate playing scales. I am now 17, and not only have I learnt so, so, so much with Deon, I made some unforgettable memories and formed some friendships that I hope will be life-long. :)" -

"It has been a privilege and a pleasure(me being a mature student) to be taught by Deon. Learning for about a year,i can play songs and read music. I have only positive things to say about Deon and the list would be long. I have observed that she is a very good teacher. She is organized, generous, pleasant, excellent piano abilities, excellent people skills with good rapport with children and older people. Students progress to higher levels, develop piano skills as individuals at own pace as well as flexible with own style of music. Thanks Deon." -
